MUNICH (GERMANY), May 4. (dpa/EP) –
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes the manager search at his former club Bayern Munich will end quickly and successfully and that it is only a “matter of time” before the new manager is announced.
“I think it’s a matter of time and I’m sure they will decide on the right one,” the Catalan said on the Sky Deutschland channel about the situation at the Bundesliga club.
After the rejections of Ralf Rangnick, Julian Nagelsmann and Xabi Alonso, the Munich team is still looking for a successor for coach Thomas Tuchel, who will leave the club at the end of the season.
“It’s also about how they want to play and what players they have available. But Bayern has the resources and the right people in their ranks. They have a capable board that will find the best possible solution,” said the City coach.
Guardiola coached Bayern from 2013 to 2016 and won the Bundesliga three times and the German Cup twice with them. He expressed his hope that Bayern would find a good solution for the vacant coaching position. “Because I love the club very much,” he said.
However, the man from Santpedor did not comment on the rumors and speculation that he himself could leave the bench of the winner of the treble (Cup, League and Champions League) last season this summer and possibly return to Munich as coach.
