The reunion of Queen Letizia and Princess Leonor at the swearing-in of Felipe VI: knowing glances and a wink in the consort’s dress

The Kings met again this Saturday with Princess Leonor at the flag oath of Felipe VI at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza. Although in this act the clear protagonist was the monarch, Mrs. Letizia has not remained in the background.

On multiple occasions, the consort has looked for her first-born daughter, who was as a witness along with the rest of her fellow cadets. This gesture shows the union between mother and daughter and how proud Letizia is of the princess.

In addition, Queen Letizia has had a wink with her first-born when choosing the look for the swearing-in. The consort has selected an elegant white suit, inspired by the one worn by Princess Leonor on October 31, the day she came of age and swore the Constitution before the Cortes Generales. Unlike the princess, who wore the suit with hardly any accessories, Letizia has combined her look with a simple black top, classic stilettos and a black bag of the same color.

The reunion of Princess Leonor and Doña Letizia in Zarzuela is expected to be next June when the heiress finishes her training at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza. Also, around that time, Leonor will meet with her sister, Infanta Sofía. The youngest daughter of the kings has been the big absentee from the event, since she is currently studying the International Baccalaureate at the UWC Atlantic College, in Wales.
