The Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE), together with the Royal Spanish Table Tennis Federation (RFETM) and Verallia, the company that produces glass containers, have presented this Monday the composition of the Verallia Team of Paralympic Promises of Table Tennis in the High Performance Center of Madrid.

In this way, Verallia continues to shape its sponsorship with the Spanish Paralympic Team, which began last year at the conclusion of the Tokyo Games and which aims to “promote young talents” in this cycle that will lead to Paris 2024 and also with an eye on Los Angeles 2028.

“It is fantastic news that companies like Verallia are betting on the athletes of the future, in this case in a sport like table tennis, in which, thanks to the joint and coordinated work with the Spanish Table Tennis Federation and the Committee Spanish Paralympic, we are managing to give new opportunities to young people with disabilities who want to dedicate themselves to this sport,” said the president of the CPE, Miguel Carballeda.

For his part, the general manager of Verallia in Spain and Portugal, Paulo Pinto, wanted to show the satisfaction that a sponsorship like this represents for his company: “We want to continue supporting the Paralympic Promises Team, which this year has already achieved so much success and that we hope will continue advancing for the important challenge of the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024”, he pointed out.

The evolution that the project is having was made clear by the president of the RFETM, Miguel Ángel Machado. “We are very satisfied with the evolution that the team is having. They have already participated in national and international tournaments, with important victories. In addition, we are working with a smaller group on the technical part, which is so important for the progression of the boys “, he added.

Regarding the voice of the great protagonists on the ground, Pilar González, one of the members of the Promises Team, acted as spokesperson for the group. “We have a lot to thank them for, because with this support we have been able to participate in big tournaments, not only in Spain but also abroad, and that helps us to improve and also to be able to qualify with a view to the great dream of every athlete, which is to be one day in the Paralympic Games”, he concluded.
