The Obamas, Steven Spielberg and Bruce Springsteen enjoy Catalan cuisine in Barcelona

The Boss kicks off his world tour in Barcelona amid great expectations. The Obamas, surrounded by strong security measures, arrived this Friday at the Gran Hotel La Florida where they were received by Springsteen himself, thus demonstrating the wonderful friendship they share.

After the meeting, Springsteen and his wife, Patti Scialfa; the filmmaker Steven Spielberg and his wife, actress Kate Capshaw; and the Obama couple left the hotel together by car ready to enjoy Spanish cuisine in one of the most exclusive restaurants in the city.

The room manager Pol Perello Franch shared an image of the musician, the filmmaker and the former US president together with the rest of the team of chefs from the Amar Barcelona restaurant, who are located in the El Palace Hotel in Barcelona, ​​on the Gran Vía de les Corts Catalanes. “Pleasures that this job gives you!” Wrote the chef.

The gastronomic team is led by the Sevillian chef Rafael Zafra, fashionable chef among athletes and celebrities. This particular restaurant, specializing in high-quality seafood and fish, opened about a year ago. Zafra also owns Estimar (also in Barcelona and Madrid) and Casa Jondal (in Ibiza).

Taking advantage of their time in Spain, the Obama family is expected to visit some of the most emblematic places in the city before going to the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium to enjoy the Springsteen concert attended by some 55,000 people. This Friday, April 28, the first show takes place. This April 30th another second concert is held.

These two concerts kick off Springsteen’s European tour. It will also pass through Dublin, France, Rome, Amsterdam, Ladgraaf, Zurich, Gothenburg, Oslo, Copenhagen, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Munich, Vienna and Monza, Italy, where the last show will take place on July 25.
