The ‘Hispanos’, second in the Golden League with a team for the future

MADRID, 5 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish men’s handball team lost (31-29) this Sunday in the closing of the Golden League against the host Norway, second in the tournament with good news for the future due to the incorporation and adaptation of Jan Gurri and the Cikusa brothers.

The ‘Hispanos’ signed a second defeat after Saturday’s against Denmark, due to Thursday’s victory against the Netherlands at the Sotra Arena in Bergen. Jordi Ribera’s men focused their game on good defense this Sunday and the game was even.

Sander Sagosen escaped that Spanish wall with four early goals, but Ribera did not change his script and Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas also appeared between the sticks. Spain switched to a defensive 5:1 with Kauldi Odriozola in the forward, resulting in a 7-9.

The Cikusa entered before the break, allowing the score to be 13-13 with which both teams went to the locker room, with a better return from the ‘Hispanos’ (16-19). Spain lacked some fuel midway through the second half, with a Nordic defense that also had its problems, in a tight score that Norway won.
