The enveloping ‘leather’ of the renovated Bernabéu will be manufactured in Cádiz

The Real Madrid has selected the stainless steel of Acerinox to cover both the facade and the roof of the renovated Santiago Bernabeu. The plant of this steel group in Los Barrios, Cádiz, It will be in charge of producing the material that will cover the merengue stadium.

The Acerinox factory in Cádiz will supply the steel for the stadium's mobile roof, which will consist of a fixed part and retractable part, the latter located on the pitch. This mechanism will offer the possibility of opening -in just 15 minutes- or closing depending on the needs and the activities that are held, allowing to host a greater variety of shows.

All the material will be produced in Cádiz and taken to the Santiago Bernabéu to be laid strip by strip through a system of rails. The steel that Acerinox will supply has the particularity that it has a finish that reduces reflection of sunlight on users, vehicles or neighboring buildings, as reported by the manufacturer itself.

The remodeling of the Santiago Bernabéu It has a loan for an amount of 575 million euros, with a term of 30 years and a fixed interest of 2.5%. The maturity of the loan, on July 30, 2049, after paying 27 installments, will raise the total cost of the work at 796.5 'kilos'.
