Santander Consumer Finance plans to hire 100 professionals in a new technology center in Valladolid

Santander Consumer Finance, through its technology subsidiary Santander Consumer Finance Global Services (SCFGS), will open a technology development center in Valladolid to promote the transformation of its business. This center aspires to hire 100 professionals with different technological profiles in the next two years.

According to sources from Santander, the entity has chosen Valladolid after carrying out “an exhaustive analysis” between different cities in Spain in which has measured criteria such as academic potential (Universities and Vocational Training Centers for computing, engineering and other technical branches), communication infrastructures with Madrid, competition from other companies in the sector and quality of life.

This center will allow, according to the entity, expand contracting capacity and will facilitate the incorporation of STEM profiles (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) with specific training based on the needs and specialization of the projects carried out by Santander Consumer Finance.

The company’s goal is to hire 100 professionals with different technological profiles over the next two years, who will be in charge of providing services and technical solutions to the activity carried out by the bank in Europe and America.

Job offers will initially be aimed at three types of profiles such as data scientists and engineers, software engineers, and Cloud/DevOps engineers.

First round, fresh graduates

In a first round of hiring, recent graduates will be incorporated and will participate in eminently practical training courses lasting more than 400 hours and will then become part of the projects on which SCFGS is working. What’s more, more senior profiles will be incorporated who will go directly to work on the projects and who can support the youngest profiles in their development and labor integration.

In addition, it has influenced that the company aspires to offer “the best financing solutions in an increasingly digital environment and without a doubt this center in Valladolid will contribute to improving our offer”.
