Pau Gasol and his three NBA Finals, nominated for best European moment of all time

MADRID, 24 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Former Spanish basketball player Pau Gasol, who was the “perfect complement” for Kobe Bryant to lead the Lakers to three consecutive NBA Finals, winning the ring in 2009 and 2010, has been nominated for the best European moment of all times in the third open category of the “NBA 75 Euro Vote” among a selection of NBA historical moments that include European players.

The list of moments has been selected by a series of European media experts, influencers and celebrities. Thus, Pau Gasol is accompanied by the German Dirk Nowitzki and his NBA championship after leading the comeback of the Dallas Mavericks from a 2-1 deficit in the 2011 NBA Finals; or the Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo and his 50 points in Game 6 of the 2021 NBA Finals, leading the Milwaukee Bucks to their first NBA title in 50 years.

Frenchman Tony Parker is also a candidate, for receiving the first European Finals MVP after leading the San Antonio Spurs to victory in the 2007 NBA Finals. As well as Croatian Hall of Famer Toni Kukoc, who helped the Chicago Bulls to achieve the historic “three-peat” winning the NBA ring in three consecutive seasons (1996-1998).

The “NBA 75 Euro Vote” honors current European players and legends who have inspired generations of basketball fans across the continent. In the first two categories, the 1995-1998 Chicago Bulls were voted the greatest dynasty in NBA history, while the 1998-1999 Toronto Raptors jersey won the vote for the greatest NBA jersey of all time.

Fans can vote online at NBA.com/Eurovote and join the conversation on social media using the hashtag #NBA75Eurovote. Voting will remain open until Wednesday March 9, with the results being published on Friday March 11. For all categories of the “NBA 75 Euro Vote”, the vote of the fans will count 50%, while the list of experts will fill in the other 50%.
