Paralympic champion Kim López crushes his world record in weight

The Spanish athlete Kim López broke his world record this Sunday, which he had held since gold at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, with 17.42 in the shot put final at the absolute Spanish Indoor Championships held in Ourense.

The Valencian athlete with visual impairment broke his own world record, competing on equal terms with the rest of the athletes, by 38 centimeters.

The current Paralympic champion in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 entered the Spanish Championships demonstrating his great form and his progress in recent years.

In addition, Adiaratou Iglesias, Paralympic champion in the 100 meter dash, made her tournament debut. The Galician athlete from the Spanish Federation of Sports for the Blind fulfilled the objective
to qualify for the semifinals with a new national record (7.68 seconds).
