Onana does not have coronavirus and is already training with Ajax again

André Onana has ruled out that he has coronavirus, as some information had recently stated. The results of the tests have been negative and tomorrow he will train again with Ajax, but this week he will not be able to play for his national team.

“I'm back home. I have been tested and I have tested negative”said the goalkeeper on his social networks. “Thanks for all the kind messages,” Onana added.

As AS has learned, the reason he will not play for Cameroon tomorrow is that his rival Japan does not want to face any player who has tested positive at some point. Onana was one of thirteen infected in the Ajax outbreak in August.

Now all teams fear a possible contagion and even the quarantine that players who leave on FIFA dates have to do. Ajax itself has prohibited its African players Mazraoui, Labyad, Kudus and Traoré from marching with their national teams so that they do not travel to Africa. The exception had been Onana because their friendly is played in Utrecht, but from now on he will work with Erik ten Hag's group again.
