Moi Gómez heads to Osasuna after passing through Villarreal

MADRID, 28 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Villarreal’s Spanish midfielder Moi Gómez has reached an agreement in principle to play for Osasuna for the next five seasons in exchange for 1.8 million euros, according to the club.

Osasuna will also pay 100,000 euros in each of those five campaigns in which they achieve permanence in LaLiga Santander. In addition, the principle of agreement also includes variables in the event that the team manages, in one of those five seasons, to qualify to play European competitions.

“Villarreal will retain 20 percent of the capital gains from a future transfer and the footballer will have a termination clause of 20 million euros in LaLiga Santander,” the club added in the statement.

The man from Alicante made his debut in the First Division with Villarreal at just 17 years of age. With the Submarino first team he has played 222 games and has scored a total of 19 goals -three of them in this last season-, and distributed 24 assists throughout his career as a yellow player.

Throughout his career he has played more than 230 games in LaLiga Santander and more than 20 in European competitions. In 2015 he went on loan to Getafe CF before returning and signing for Sporting de Gijón. From there he was transferred to Huesca, with whom he returned to the top competition.

His good performances made Villarreal pay 1.3 million euros for the footballer to return to the Castellón team, where he has been since then, managing to become champion of the ‘Europa League’.

Eleven years later, the midfielder headed to Osasuna to continue his sports career and help the Navarrese team in their goals.
