Madrid will host an IBA Champion's Night boxing circuit event in March

MADRID, 3 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

On March 23, Madrid will host an event corresponding to the IBA Champion's Night circuit, developed by the International Boxing Association (IBA) and in which the most prominent names in Olympic boxing compete, with rules close to professional boxing.

The event will have different components of the national team, whose selection will be made taking into account the calendar, since the date of celebration is located between the two qualifying tournaments for the Paris Games.

After the date of the event that was going to be held in the month of January in Zagreb (Croatia) fell, the duel between Samuel Carmona and Hasanboy Dusmatov (Uzbekistan) in which the so-called IBA World Championship was being disputed, could be incorporated into this event but is awaiting final confirmation to find out if it will be part of the Spanish IBA Champion's Night.

For his part, the president of the Royal Spanish Boxing Federation, Felipe Martínez, considers that it is important to have gotten Spain to host this event. “It's about continuing to add and in this case, that our athletes can be more active and at a high level. The main attraction of this format is that the best face the best and that is very attractive for the fan,” highlighted the president.

“Little by little, more details will be revealed, both about the competitors and its final location, as well as, where appropriate, the TV channel or platform through which it can be followed in our country,” he said.
