BARCELONA, 2 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Italian rider Luca Marini assured, after signing for the Repsol Honda Team (taking the place of Marc Márquez) and testing his new bike in the post-season test, that joining the Japanese team is a “dream” and that, at 26 years old, He will try to help lessen the “shock” of saying goodbye to the multiple world champion after successfully completing his attempt to get to Honda.

“I think we are going to work a lot, I have already been able to see and meet many people in the box, I really like working with the Japanese and their culture. With the bike we are going to push from the first moment because Honda has to win races again as soon as possible,” he said in statements provided by the team.

By 2024 he asks to be able to improve the bike and get good performance out of it. “In terms of results, the first thing I have to do is beat my Honda teammates. It won't be easy, at the moment I have little experience with this bike, but I'm going to do my best to try everything,” he said.

“It was a shock when Marc said he was leaving this team, so I tried, together with my manager and the rest of the people who always accompany me, to find contact with the team and see what possibilities I had in this new project of developing a powerful motorcycle that can win races and titles again. It turned out well, so we are going to start this new adventure in the best possible way,” he noted.

Marini started dreaming of being a pilot when he was little. “The dream is growing, because at first you have a small motorcycle, which picks up very little speed and then it increases the displacement and the circuits and makes you have more fun. When I arrived at the World Championship, the emotion I felt was incredible; I have tried everything to make it my passion, my life and my work. Now that I am in this team, in MotoGP, it is a dream,” he concluded.

Before starting the season in Qatar, Marini will get back on the RC213V in the Sepang tests – from February 1 to 3 and from February 6 to 8 – and in Qatar – on February 19 and 20. February–.
