Laporte, by Chiellini

Aymeric Laporte, central defender of Manchester City, has been one of the pillars of Pep Guardiola’s team, which for another season has been proclaimed champion of the Premier League. The international for Spain added his fourth Premier League in a season with a lot of prominence, playing 44 games in all competitions.

His good level keeps him on Luis Enrique’s list just a few months before the National Team plays the World Cup in Qatar and also on City’s list of valuable assets. But this is not in the only list in which it appears. According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are very interested in taking over the French-born centre-back for next season.

After Chiellini’s departure, only Bonucci will remain from the mythical BBC that formed the center of defense, both together with Barzagli. At 35 years old, Juve is looking to renew and sees Laporte as a perfect replacement both for his good work in construction and ball delivery and for his winning character, as he has shown with City.

Chiellini’s future, at 37, points to Major League Soccer in the United States. Between De Ligt and if Laporte arrives, they are ready to take over a defense that has been legendary at Juventus.
