Juan Ayuso, Marc Soler and Juanpe López will be at the Madrid Criterium

MADRID, 16 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Madrid Criterium cycling event, which will be held on October 29 in the streets of the Spanish capital, will feature in this 2023 edition Spanish figures from the international peloton such as Juan Ayuso, Marc Soler and Juanpe López, among others, who will compete alongside cyclists Under-23.

Last year’s Madrid Criterium featured the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar and this year the race, which will once again take place in the heart of the city on a route yet to be revealed, will feature several national stars.

Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates) will repeat his participation after winning the elimination test the previous year. Winner this year of two stages in the Tour of Switzerland and another in Romandía, Ayuso will become one of the favorites for this edition. His teammate Marc Soler will also participate in the test.

Juanpe López will be with them in the capital. The Lebrija native, wearer of the pink jersey of the Giro d’Italia 2022 and best youngster of the transalpine round, will also be part of the peloton in the colors of Lidl-Trek.

The organization, which announces “possible surprises” for the coming days, recalls that Jonathan Castroviejo and Omar Fraile (INEOS), Raúl García Pierna, Carlos García Pierna and Pablo Castrillo (Kern Pharma Team), Fernando Barceló, Eduard Prades, Jon Barrenetexea, Jokin Murguialday, David González and Calum Johnston (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA), Jonathan Lastra (Cofidis) and Diego Pablo Sevilla and Javier Serrano (EOLO-Kometa) also have numbers.

As already happened in 2022, the Madrid Criterium continues with its firm commitment to acting as a link between professionalism and those U-23 cyclists who aspire to reach the elite sooner rather than later, so several riders in that category will be in the Madrid test, which will be broadcast live on Eurosport.
