Jon Pérez Bolo, new coach of Real Oviedo

The Biscayan coach Jon Pérez Bolo and Real Oviedo have reached an agreement for the former Ponferradina coach to replace Cuco Ziganda on the blue bench, a commitment that unites both parties until June 2023 and to which is added his team, made up of assistant coach, analyst and physical trainer.

A week after the new blue sports director, Tito Blanco, was officially presented, the time has come for the new Oviedista coach, a Jon Pérez Bolo who was the first choice for the position even before Blanco’s arrival but that has not closed its incorporation until this Wednesday.

The negotiations had been advanced for days and the coach Carbayón spent Wednesday at the Carlos Tartiere, but it was not until late at night when the entity was able to make his arrival official.

“We are going to be brave and try to make them proud of our work, that is going to be our greatest achievement. Football is very peculiar and depends on results, but we are going to take that first step in our relationship with the fans, which is important for us “, said the Basque, who feels “excitement, pride and responsibility” in the face of this new challenge.

The new Carbayón coach approaches his first experience as a coach away from El Toralín in Oviedo, at least as far as professional football is concerned: he was promoted with Ponferradina in 2018-2019, kept the team in the category in the following campaign and has the last two placing him close to the promotion positions, in 8th position.

Along with him, his almost complete work team will begin the preseason in El Requexón: Pablo Lago, as assistant coach, Pablo Santis, as physical trainer and Asier Díaz in the role of analyst.
