Some 2,000 people, including 500 leaders from around the world and representatives of the European royal houses, including the Spanish, Felipe VI and Doña Letizia, were taking their seats in the abbey.

One of the first to arrive has been Emmanuel Macron, France’s president; with his wife, Brigittewho wore a black headdress with a net.

Minutes later, they did. Joe Bidenpresident of the USA, and his wife, Jill. Also, Frank Walter Steinmeier (Germany); Sergio Mattarella (Italia); Justin Trudeau (Canada), Taoiseach Michael Martin (Ireland) and Ursula von der Leyen (President of the European Commission).

While the leaders have arrived in buses chartered by British security, which departed from Chelsea Hospital, President Biden did so in his own limousine and with his own security team. Marriage has fallen from its The Beast (‘The Beast’), the armored car of General Motors, a vehicle that weighs 9 tons.

The abbey, a historical setting that hosts the coronation of kings in the United Kingdom, has great significance for Elizabeth II: she married Felipe there in 1947; and, like her ancestors, she also celebrated her coronation. It was in 1953, a year after her proclamation.
