Real Betis has announced this Monday, through a video starring the presenter and ‘influencer’ Ibai Llanos and Borja Iglesias himself, the renewal for two more seasons of the Galician striker, whose contract initially ended on June 30, 2024 and now It extends until 2026. In this way, the Verdiblanco club, apart from ensuring the continuity for two more years of its top scorer of the year 2021, manages to extend the salary limit, since the amortization of its transfer is extended two more years and the amounts are diluted in accounting.
Borja Iglesias arrived at Real Betis in the summer of 2019 from RCD Espanyol, in exchange for the 28 million euros of his termination clause. In the Verdiblanco club he has played a total of 91 games, scoring 23 goals and giving 6 assists. Of those 23 goals, 19 have been achieved in this year 2021, since from the summer of 2019 until the end of 2020 he could only score four goals with the Betica elastic.
The renewal of Borja Iglesias is the third that Real Betis has announced in recent weeks, since first it was that of Sergio Canales until 2026 and a few days ago that of coach Manuel Pellegrini until 2025. They are also in negotiations to renew their contracts Nabil Fekir, Claudio Bravo and Rodri.
