Gulacsi is seriously injured in his right knee

LEIPZIG (GERMANY), 6 Oct. (DPA/EP) –

The goalkeeper and captain of RB Leipzig, the Hungarian international Peter Gulacsi, suffered a serious injury to his right knee in the victory (3-1) this Wednesday in the third day of the Champions League against Celtic Glasgow and will be out for many months.

“Our captain suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and will be out for a long period of time. More tests will be carried out in the coming days,” said the German club, Real Madrid’s rival in the group stage, in its official website.

The Hungarian international suffered the injury early in the match when he got stuck on the pitch and was removed after being treated for several minutes on the pitch by the German club’s doctors.

“It really hurts. He is the captain and an absolute rock for years at Leipzig,” coach Marco Rose said after learning of the severity of his captain’s injury.
