From Caminero to Manolo Gaspar: how we have changed!

Málaga will start its fourth consecutive season in the Second Division with very different perspectives than he had with respect to his first season after the painful and embarrassing decline from Primera in 2017-18. After the hit was consummated, Málaga drew up a plan to obtain an immediate return to the top flight based on an economic power as huge as it was disproportionate and unrealistic as time showed.

There is hardly anyone left. The eleven guy was Munir; Cifu, Luis Hernández, Pau Torres, Ricca :; Adrian, N’Diaye; Ontiveros, Harper, Renato Santos; and Blanco Leschuk. Only two players remain from that large squad: David Lombán and Hicham.

The following season was terrible. The ineffective management of Al Thani endangered the survival of the team that was only able to enroll 17 professionals. Mula, Iván Rodríguez and José Rodríguez were left without a record while Okazaki had to go to Huesca. Caminero stopped being a sports director. The typical team was Munir; Clfu, Luis Hernández, Lombán, Diego González, Juankar; Adrián, Luis Muñoz, Keidi Bare; Juanpi and Sadiku. Lombán, Luis Muñoz, Benkhemassa, Gonzalo, Hicham, Ismael, Juande, Cristo, Ramón, Julio, Quintana and Larrubia remain. The last nine are subsidiaries.

The 20-21 campaign began with the judicial administration of José María Muñoz, which decreed a severe ERE to ensure the viability of the club. Many players came out and again with 18 professional chips, Malaga saved the category without trouble. Sergio Pellicer's eleven type was more or less the following: Dani Barrio; Ismael, Lombán, Juande, Matos; Jairo, Jozabed, Luis Muñoz, Ramón; Yanis and Caye Quintana.

And, for the moment, with a view to this exercise, to the aforementioned list of survivors we add the renewed Jozabed and Pablo Chavarría. Many things have changed in this Malaga forced to reinvent itself due to the bad head of its former president and still owner, Abdullah Al Thani.
