DAZN acquires the rights to D1 Arkema, the highest category of French women’s football

The television platform DAZN announced this Thursday an agreement with the Fédération Française de Football (FFF) that will allow its users in Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria and the United States to watch D1 Arkema, the top category of French women’s football.

“After the successful launch of DAZN in France, this agreement expands the platform’s offering in the French country and underlines its commitment to continue investing in women’s football and increasing its exposure,” the platform said in a press release.

“In addition to France, the D1 Arkema can be seen on DAZN exclusively in Spain, the United States and the United Kingdom, and continues with its broadcast in Germany and Austria for the next three seasons. In this way, the DAZN catalog will be sees it strengthened, supporting its growth strategy for women’s football,” the note added.

Hannah Brown, co-CEO of DAZN Women’s Sport, highlighted that D1 Arkema “has some of the biggest figures in world women’s football.” “Furthermore, this agreement reinforces DAZN’s strategic commitment to invest in and grow women’s football in our main markets; we already offer domestic rights in Spain, Germany and Japan, as well as global rights to the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the NWSL and the F League,” concluded Brown.

The regular season in D1 Arkema, which has 44 games, can be seen at a rate of two games per day (one on Fridays and the other on Sundays, both at 9:00 p.m.). The ‘playoffs’ concern four games; the semifinals will be two games on May 12, 2024; and the final, as well as the duel for third place, will be on May 18, 2024.
