Darwin Núñez seals the victory of Almería

A penalty goal from the Uruguayan Darwin Núñez and the masterful performance of the goalkeeper Fernando allowed Almería to beat the Albacete (0-1) in a match in which the locals once again demonstrated why they are the second highest scoring team and after which the visitors are placed two points from direct promotion.

The first shot on goal that the Carlos Belmonte in the last three months he carried the signature of Eddy Silvestre, the local midfielder, who surprised the rival goalkeeper in thirty seconds of the game with a dry shot that went close to his right post.

With the passage of minutes, the team from Almería began to stretch and move the ball much faster, allowing dangerous movements between the lines such as the one that Lazo starred in and which ended with a loose kick that blocked Tomeu Nadal without problems (minute 9).

The Albacete he tried to steal to attack his opponent vertically, as in the action in which a counterattack commanded by Álvaro Jiménez concluded in a shot by Chema Núñez that Fernando had to clear his fists to deny him the goal (minute 13).

In fact, the best opportunities in Albacete emerged after several thefts of Álvaro Jiménez, who took advantage of a loss of Maras to find Manu Fuster, who fired a sharp shot that once again successfully repelled the goalkeeper of the Almeria to avoid, again, the first local goal.

The visiting goalkeeper was the true hero of his own, saving – again – the Atletico team after a ball lowered by the chest by Zozulia, which was frank to Wild, although this one crashed with the foot of the mentioned goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the first half.

There is a very hackneyed maxim in soccer that ensures “that the one who forgives ends up paying it”, and that was what happened to an Albacete who could have finished the first half comfortably winning and went to rest losing.

An absurd -but very clear- penalty Benedict by touching a center of Darwin Núñez It allowed the Uruguayan to transform the maximum penalty in the last action of the first half and leave an inferior team from Almería in the first forty-five minutes.

After the break, the Albacete team printed the same intensity and continued to be the set that accumulated the most occasions. First with a header from Manu Fuster which was overlooked and then thanks to another auction by Chema Núñez inside the area that the goalkeeper took for the umpteenth time Fernando.

Continuing with the collection of opportunities, it was the turn of Zozulia, after a good cross from the right side of Álvaro Jiménez, that the Ukrainian attacker, at the first touch, could not get into the rival goal for lack of aim (minute 58).

The box José María Gutiérrez also tried with the passage of minutes. First with a shot from outside the area by Juan Muñoz (min.63) that went wide and, five minutes later, in a heads-up between Darwin Núñez and Tomeu Nadal in which the local goalkeeper was victorious.

From there, the confrontation languished between the carousel of changes, but in the added time Albacete had a good opportunity in a foul on the edge of the area that Fernando saved again with fists to prevent the Albacete team from scoring.

After this meeting, Albacete remains installed in the relegation posts, one point from the posts that guarantee permanence, and Almería adds three points that place it two points from direct promotion.
