Cristina Pedroche tries to get the presenter’s card in ‘Password’ (after five failures)

This Friday night, starting at 10:00 p.m., the great television battle of the summer will take place. On the one hand, ‘Password’, which had been waiting for months for the right moment to be launched by Antena 3, which ruled out finding a daily spot for it because it had an overbooked grid

And on the other side ‘La última noche’, with the same host (Sandra Barneda), producer (Quartz) and part of the team of the failed ‘Así es la vida’, which sinks to dangerous levels of 7 percent. Pablo Gonzalez Batista co-presents this show that counts as guests with Miguel Angel Revilla y Martha Flich.

Pedroche’s curse as a presenter

There is no doubt about Pedroche’s pull on networks, as a secondary dish of humor programs (from ‘I know what you did…’ or ‘Zapeando’) and as a light clothing claim at Puerta del Sol in the Bells.

Another matter is her ability to lead projects to success as a presenter, since the five programs she has presented so far have not worked. It was the case of reality show ‘Pekín Express’, which did not achieve its goals on Antena 3 or on La Sexta, both with Pedroche as presenter.

Atresmedia continued to give him smaller orders. This was the case with the new version of ‘Tú sí que vales’ (the ephemeral ‘Tú sí que sí’, on La Sexta), a space for reports in emblematic places (‘Dentro de…’) or a low cost space channel surfing (‘Top 50’, on Antena 3). The wave of erotic-festive reality shows recorded in paradisiacal places gave it an extra life, ‘Love Island España’, but that invention did not work on Atresplayer or on Neox.

Second course

Pedroche knows he is second in ‘Password’, since Atresmedia had appointed the presenter who led him to success in Cuatro, Luján Argüelles, to lead the contest, who finally rejected the bid to lead a project in the competition, the failed ‘Brigada Tech’ from TVE.

Argüelles’ “no” angered Atresmedia, who appointed Pedroche, annoyed by the ‘hate’ he received after the news broke: “It bothers me if they criticize without seeing it, without giving me a chance, that it seems that nobody is happy or even that wish me bad luck.”

An Atresmedia shareholder is behind ‘Password’

‘Password’ was born in the 60s on American television and has now returned to the first line of television thanks to Jimmy Fallon on NBC. This format also has versions in Brazil, France, Mexico, Greece, Indonesia, Slovakia, New Zealand, Germany, Turkey, Portugal and Sweden or the United Kingdom.

The producer of ‘Password’ is Fremantle, owned by the third shareholder of Atresmedia, the German Grupo Bertelsmann. Its CEO in Spain, Fernando Carro, showed a few months ago that he was fed up with the editor of Antena 3 and La Sexta, who barely commissions them despite having almost 20% of the company.

“We are happy with the participation we currently have. What we would like at Atresmedia is to do more business with Fremantle. There are not many private chains in this country, I tell Atresmedia and Mediaset, we would be delighted to sell more products to the chains television,” he said.

Said and done: Fremantle signed an agreement… But with Mediaset, which ensured the future for ‘Got Talent’. Atresmedia, for its part, only trusts him with ‘Mask Singer’ and now ‘Password’. While Movistar Plus+ will follow another star format from the production company, ‘Martínez y hermanos’.

Dabiz Muñoz will be at the premiere

Atresmedia explains that David Bustamante, Chenoa, Antonio Resines, Ana Milán, Santiago Segura and Lorena Castell are some of the guests of the special prime-time deliveries that Antena 3 will broadcast.

Together with Miki Nadal and Dabid Muñoz, Pedroche’s husband, who will be the guests of the first installment, they will accompany the contestants, whose main objective will be to beat the opposing couple with whom they are competing.

Each team (contestant-famous) will fight to guess keywords, passwords, that only one of the members of the couple knows. How will they do it? Offering you clues, words or single word clues and they will have a limited time to guess it.

The rival

‘La última noche’ will feature in each installment at least one major guest of relevance in different fields willing to share with the audience one last night of confessions, fun, memories, revelations, anecdotes, predictions and, above all, good vibes, Mediaset promises.

In addition, the space will host a debate on a topic of current affairs or of social interest, which will welcome the opinions and contributions of a team of commentators and experts, and a table in which the latest developments in the world of the heart will be analyzed.

The public present in the stands of the set, Mediaset advances, will have a very active role in everything that happens in each installment of ‘La última noche’, both in the interviews and in the debates and topics that are addressed at the different tables of present. A role in which the comedians Laura Márquez and David Puerto will be key.

Miguel Ángel Revilla and Marta Flich are the first guests of this kind of mixture between ‘La noria’ and ‘Moros y cristianos’ and the program will feature a debate in which Cristóbal Soria, the actor Rubén Ochandiano, Pilar Rahola and Mabel Lozano will participate, among others.
