Charlene, in red on Monaco’s National Day after worrying about her children: “They are aware of what is happening”

Big day in the Principality. Albert of Monaco y Charlene have presided over the National Day of the Principality this Sunday, November 19, together with all the Grimaldis, including Stephanie y Caroline of Monacohis nephews and of course, his children, the twins Jacques y Gabriella. They spoke precisely about them this weekend showing great concern.

Regarding his tasks in the crown, Alberto explained that “there is no specific age to start. Things have to be done little by little, without forcing. Now, we don’t want to expose them too much, but, of course, when they are older they will get involved in more activities,” he said in the newspaper Monaco Morning.

Charlene, apparently recovered from the mental and physical health problems that marked her last two years, expressed her concern: “We all dream of peace, but, unfortunately, we are going through a very worrying period. Our children embody the future of the Principality and we must make them understand why we have constant protection. In this sense, the prince added: “Although I still don’t think they understand everything, they are somewhat aware of what is happening, sometimes they watch the news and talk about it at school.”

At the same time, the prince and the former South African swimmer work so that they do not forget part of their maternal roots: “They have been to South Africa several times and they really enjoy those trips. They often tell me that they want to return to see animals or visit farms. “For me it is very special to be able to show them the environment in which I grew up.” They also announced what their most immediate plans are: “At the end of the year we will go to Antarctica. It is a trip organized by the Oceanographic Museum and Robert Calcagno. I think it will be wonderful for everyone.”

Monaco National Day

The national holiday of Monaco is a celebration that dates its origin to 1857, the second year of the reign of Prince Charles III of Monaco and the moment in which the city officially became an independent state.

The day consists of several events. It began with a mass of thanksgiving and a Te Deum celebrated by Mons. After the solemn ceremony, the Grimaldis went to the Court of Honor of the Prince’s Palace, where the rest of the events were celebrated: the taking of arms, the medal ceremony and a military parade in the palace square, as is usually customary.

Princess Charlene usually opts for red or white, the colors of the flag. This 2023, she has shone with a red total look that is very suitable for the occasion, consisting of a dress, a coat with wide lapels and a tight waist, a headdress, gloves and boots. Alberto de Monaco, in his military uniform, and little Jacques (also in uniform) and Gabrielle (in navy blue) completed the family photo. The little ones turned 8 years old in December.
