Blanco says goodbye to the Olímpica

Alejandro Blanco, president of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), visited the National Team this Sunday in Benidorm. “It is a difficult time due to the pandemic. This makes it very difficult for us to be in your day to day because you must be in a bubble without being able to see anyone. But I am sure that we will have a great championship and I will celebrate each goal of our National Team ”, he assured.

Luis Rubiales, via videoconference, told the players that “they have a unique opportunity in their sporting life. You have the opportunity to play a very special tournament, since it is very difficult to play it. You are a great team not only in sports, you are like a family. You have a great atmosphere and that is very important. We trust you. We know that you are going to give it your all ”.

The president of the Federation also thanked Blanco for his visit: “Just the fact that you are there says a lot about you. It makes me sad that the players don't treat you as much as I do, because the work and enthusiasm you put into your day-to-day life is wonderful.” Both were accompanied by Salvador Gomar and Enrique Ortolá, president and vice president of the Valencian Football Federation, and by Ricardo Leiva, the sports director of the COE.

The Olímpica, already with the six who played the Eurocup in the expedition (Simón, Èric, Pau Torres, Pedri, Olmo and Oyarzabal), flies to Japan this Monday at 5:30 p.m. They are scheduled to land in Kobe at 4:25 pm on Tuesday, local time (9:25 am in Spain). The idea is that they try to sleep shortly after takeoff to begin to adjust to the schedule and minimize jet lag. Before the debut on the 22nd against Egypt, Spain will play a friendly against Japan on the 17th in Kobe.
