Bera Bera-Valladolid, Granollers-Guardés, Granca-Málaga and Elche-Gijón, quarters of the Copa de la Reina

Super Amara Bera Bera-Caja Rural Aula Valladolid, KH-7 Granollers- Mecalia Atlético Guardés, Rocasa Gran Canaria-Costa del Sol Málaga and Visitelche.com Elche-Unicaja Banco Gijón are the quarterfinalists of the XLIII Handball Queen’s Cup of San Sebastián, which will be held at the Donostia Arena Illumbe from April 29 to May 1.

This has been the result of the draw held this Wednesday at the Miramar Palace in San Sebastián, in an act with the presence of Francisco V. Blázquez, president of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM); Harkaitz Millán, Regional Deputy for Sports of Gipuzkoa; Goizane Álvarez, sports director of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa; and Martín Ibabe, sports councilor of the San Sebastián City Council.

Representatives of the eight participating clubs in this 2022 edition of the Copa de SM la Reina, Imanol Álvarez and Alba Menéndez (Super Amara Bera Bera), have also attended; Joaquín Rocamora and Ekaterina Zhukova (Visitelche.com Elche); Cayetano Cifuentes and Cristina Cifuentes (Caja Rural Aula Valladolid); Salva Puig and Ona Vegué (KH-7 Granollers); José Ignacio Prades and Lorena Pérez (Mecalia Atlético Guardés); and Cristina Cabeza and Juliana Borges (Unicaja Banco Gijón).

Francisco V. Blázquez has remarked that this will be an “exciting” and “exciting” Copa de la Reina in equal parts. “We want to recover that long-awaited normality,” said Blázquez, who highlighted the “clear commitment” of the Provincial Council for this event, which it wants to have “the greatest possible return.”

“We will have a special and spectacular Cup in Illumbe, the environment will be magical to enjoy the best women’s handball; with the return of the Mini Cup, watching our little Warriors compete; and in a few days in which there will also be several parallel events to open it to the social and educational field,” he said.

For his part, Martín Ibabe acknowledged that they are “particularly excited” to host the Copa de la Reina. “For Donosti, women’s handball is a reference with a club that gives us so much joy like Bera Bera and that has worked so hard to get this Cup off the ground. I wish the eight teams the best of luck, and the Gipuzkoa and San Sebastian society to enjoy this great event We hope to meet expectations,” he said.

Finally, Harkaitz Millán stressed that “the visibility of women’s sports and the work with the base are fundamental” for them. “That is why we are happy to host an event like this Cup, showy, competitive and in which values ​​of teamwork, solidarity and respect are transmitted; I hope that fans and teams spend a magnificent week here,” she said.

RAFFLED THE MINICOPA OF SPAIN 2022

During this act, the groups of the 2022 Women’s Minicopa de España were also raffled, which will return in this edition with the 8 cadet teams of the participants in the Copa de SM la Reina.

Once the draw has been made, the configuration of the groups has been left with group A formed by Mecalia Atl. Guardés, Caja Rural Aula Valladolid, Elche Tufarmaciaelche.es and KH-7 Granollers; and B, by Lacturale Bera Bera, Rocasa Handball, Costa del Sol Málaga and Unicaja Banco Gijón.
