The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell continues to put together a dream poster for the 69th edition of the Conde de Godó Trophy and this Wednesday it has announced the presence of one of the great promises of world tennis: Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz.
Alcaraz joins the outstanding list of participants in the tournament in which Rafa Nadal, current champion of the tournament, or Stefanos Tsitsipas, will play finalist last year, in addition to the Italian Jannik Sinner.
The Murcian, who in this 2022 has conquered the title in the Rio Tournament, who has managed to sneak into the Top-20 at 18 years old and who accumulates a balance of 8-1wants to get rid of the thorn of what to date has been his only participation in the tournament final table, when he fell in the first round against the American Frances Tiafoe 6-4 and 7-6 (2).
David Ferrer, director of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, celebrated Alcaraz’s presence at the tournament. “Alcaraz is a player who has exceptional conditions that allow him to play against any rival. Nobody knows how far he can go, but we are all convinced that it will be very far”, says Ferrer, who together with the public of the Real Club de Tenis de Barcelona will be able to see the great promise of world tennis in action.
