Aldama shows off his scoring record in the tough loss against the Lakers

MADRID, 15 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish power forward Santi Aldama broke his best scoring record in the NBA this morning with 24 points in the resounding defeat (134-107) of the Memphis Grizzlies against the Los Angeles Lakers, which practically eliminated the Tennessee team from the In-Cup. Season and down in the Western Conference, also marked by a brawl with the canary and Anthony Davis as protagonists.

In the return of LeBron James to the Angelenos after some physical discomfort, the spotlight was on the Spanish player, with the best performance in the American competition of his entire career. Aldama led a soulless Grizzlies thanks to his 24 points (9/15 in field goals and 3/8 in triples) in just 25 minutes on the court. Quite an exhibition to try to save his team, which he completed with 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks.

However, the Lakers finished the match quickly, thanks to a great first half. The locals came to enjoy a lead of 31 points, a cushion they managed perfectly, although without fanfare. While LeBron James scored 16 points, D’Angelo Russell (24), Rui Hachimura (23) and Anthony Davis (19 points and 11 rebounds) were the best for the Angelenos.

Additionally, Davis was the center of attention for a clash with Aldama in the first quarter. The Lakers star confronted the canary after a basket under the rim, pushing the Spanish insider and throwing him to the ground. The action generated a brawl on the court that ended with techniques for the Los Angeles power forward, Aldama, Jenkins, Desmond Bane and D’Angelo Russell.

The final victory (134-107), without excessive problems, allows the Lakers to remain undefeated at home in the regular league in the mid-season tournament (2-0), with a balance of 6-5 in the West. Memphis’ situation is worrying, with a poor 2-9 start at the bottom of the table and almost no options in the In-Season (0-3).
