What’s wrong with Haaland? Fifth match without scoring

Erling Haaland is not fine. The Borussia Dortmund striker reappeared in mid-March after recovering from his muscle problems, however he has already gone five games without scoring, an unheard of fact since he joined the black and yellow team in January 2020.

Never before has the Norwegian giant gone through such a losing streak with Dortmund, with whom he has scored a whopping 80 goals in 83 appearances. With such figures, it is very strange to see him chain more than two games without scoring… much less five.

Haaland returned after hip problems on March 13, when Dortmund, already eliminated from the Europa League at the hands of Rangers, faced Arminia Bielefeld. He completed 27 minutes, a little less than the 33 he played three days later against Mainz.

Coming off the bench after overcoming an injury did not allow the Norwegian crack to see the goal, but in his next three starts he has not been able to break a drought that dates from January 22, when he scored against Hoffenheim before being injured.

Neither against Cologne, nor against Leipzig nor against Stuttgart has he managed to score, a streak that he hopes to break on the 16th against Wolfsburg.
