The Women’s Tour already has its 24 participating teams

A total of 10 Spanish teams, led by Movistar, will try to win the first edition

The organization of La Vuelta Femenina presented this Friday the teams chosen to participate in the first edition of the Spanish race, which will be held between Monday 1 and Sunday 7 May.

The first Women’s Tour, which will start in Torrevieja with a team time trial and end in the Covadonga Lakes in the queen stage, will have 12 UCI Women’s World Teams –the highest category– and another 12 teams from the second level.

Among those in the highest category there is only one Spanish team, the Movistar Team Women. On the other hand, among the 12 UCI Women’s Continental Teams, there are 9 more Spanish teams (Bizkaia-Durango, Cantabria Deporte-Rio Miera, Eneicat-CMTeam-Seguros Deportivos, FARTO-BTC, Laboral Kutxa-Fundación Euskadi, Massi Tactic, Soltec, Sopela and ZAAF.
