The leader Mallorca loses steam and does not go beyond the tie

Mallorca, leaders of the SmartBank League, could not get past the draw (0-0) this Saturday against Real Oviedo at the Son Moix stadium, in a game with few chances, but very clear in both areas.

The vermilions are still at the top of the classification after the seventh tables of the season, three of them at home, and Oviedo takes a gold point in the field of the leader that keeps them in the quiet zone of the classification.

The Balearic team was not fluent in the first half and their game was imprecise and bland against an opponent who did not shrink in the leader's field. The only dangerous play by the local side was created by Víctor Mollejo with a header that Femenías cleared to a corner.

A scarce offensive production for a team that struggles for direct promotion and that debuted attack: Mollejo and Álvaro Giménez were starters, since Amath Ndiayé dropped out due to injury and Abdón Prats was initially left on the bench.

Oviedo, with Tejera, Edgar, Borja and Sangalli, commanded in the center of the field and prevented there were spaces for Salva Sevilla's passes.

Above, the Oviedo player who caused the most problems for the Majorcan rear due to his mobility was Nahuel Leiva.

Mollejo, on loan from Atlético de Madrid, saw the yellow card and Luis García admitted Abdón Prats at the start of the second half.

The change had a positive effect on Mallorca. Luis García's team attacked more, although he failed in the last meters against a very serious Oviedo in defense.

The Asturian team could even take the three points in the final stretch (min. 87) with a header from Grippo, but Salva Sevilla prevented it by clearing the ball on the same goal line.

García took out all his artillery in search of victory (M'Boula, Cardona and Murilo entered), changes that did not have the desired effect on the scoreboard.

With the draw at Son Moix, Mallorca continues to lead but loses steam after achieving a six point at stake in the last two days after the first away loss against Sporting de Gijón.
