The Copa América celebrates having “perfect partners” for the regatta in Vilanova i la Geltrú

The town and port of Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona) are already preparing to host the first of the America’s Cup preliminary regattas, between September 14 and 17, 2023, whose organization is working closely with three prominent local partners that are “perfect” for the occasion.

These are Pendennis Vilanova –superyacht reconditioning and maintenance facilities that will be the teams’ base of operations–, La Daurada –restaurant and nightclub that will serve as the main hospitality space and press center facilities– and the Club Nàutic de Vilanova –main center of operations–.

“By choosing Vilanova i la Geltrú to host the first preliminary race on the way to the AC37 in Barcelona, ​​we have found the perfect local partners and we express our thanks to Pendennis Vilanova, who is providing spectacular sailing facilities both on and off the water. for the visiting teams and superyachts,” said the CEO of the competition, Grant Dalton.

He also gave thanks to the “impressive complex” of La Daurada. “Seaside will provide AC Club’s first-class hospitality facilities, as well as AC’s media centre,” he added. “And thanks to Club Nàutic de Vilanova, which is the host yacht club and provides work space for the event organizers and officials,” he added.

Teams from New Zealand (current winner and host of the America’s Cup), Great Britain, Switzerland, Italy, the US and France will contest the preliminary regatta.

“Our goal has always been to spread the positive message of the America’s Cup throughout Catalonia and the rest of Spain, while maintaining contact with fans around the world,” Dalton said.
