Trouble in paradise. The footballer’s decision to continue to be active in the NFL did not please his wife at all, Gisele Bundchen (42). The Brazilian model and Tom Brady (45) have been involved in heated discussions in recent days and have decided to put land in between: she has traveled to Costa Rica while he has stayed at his home in Tampa, Florida, to start the sports season.
According to Page Six, the crisis in marriage is quite serious. It is not the first time they have gone through one, but until now, they had never been physically separated. Brady himself dropped his complicated family situation when asked about his absence in the first ten days of training: “Everything is personal… We all have different situations that we are dealing with, we have really unique challenges in our lives. I’m 45 years old, man . A lot of things are happening,” the Buccaneers player said.
“There have been problems in the marriage due to Brady’s decision not to retire. Gisele has always been the one who stayed with the children and gave up her career for him,” a source told the aforementioned publication. “They had agreed that he would retire to focus on the family, but then he changed his mind.” Bundchen herself confirmed it in her last interview: “He focuses on his career, mine is mainly on children. Relationships are not the fairy tale that people want to believe.” He has not denied it either: “Sometimes I feel that I am not doing my part with my family. My wife believed that I would play football all season and she would have to stay home. She was not satisfied with our marriage. For me it worked, but not for her,” he said a couple of years ago.
The model and the American football player met in 2006 on a blind date and married two years later in an intimate and almost secret ceremony in the mansion they bought in Costa Rica, where she has now settled. They have two children together, Benjamin and Vivian, plus one that Brady had from a previous relationship. Named the NFL’s Best Player on several occasions, he has won three Super Bowls and his cache amounts to 20 million dollars per season. He announced his retirement in 2020, but changed his mind and returned. So up to three times. The couple’s environment affirms that Bundchen’s patience is at the limit: “She accepted jobs because he promised to be with the children and he has not fulfilled it.”
