Spain is guaranteed three more medals in the European Paralympic table tennis tournament

The couples formed by the Spanish Ander Cepas and Jorge Cardona, Miguel Ángel Toledo and Iker Sastre and Alejandro Díaz and Alberto Seoane have guaranteed themselves a medal in the European Paralympic Table Tennis Championships, which is being held in Sheffield (United Kingdom), by reaching the semifinals of the doubles category.

In the MD4 class, Miguel Ángel Toledo and Iker Sastre will face the Slovak couple formed by Martin Ludrovsky and Jan Riapos, while in the MD14 class, Alberto Seoane and Alejandro Díaz, after two consecutive victories, will face the Danes Brammer and Rosenmeier. In the MD18 class, Ander Cepas and Jorge Cardona will face the Ukrainian pair composed of Kats and Mai.

These three medals will join the bronzes won by Álvaro Valera in class 6 and by Eduardo Cuesta in class 11 in the individual competition.

In addition, three Spanish couples were one victory away from the medals after losing in the quarterfinals. In the MD8 class, Roberto Eder Rodríguez and Francisco Javier López said goodbye to the Turks Abdullah Ozturk and Nesim Turan (1-3); in the MD14 class, Jordi Morales and Álvaro Valera lost to the numbers one, the French Herrault and Berthier (0-3); and in the XD17 class, Juan Bautista Pérez and Olaia Martínez fell to the Ukrainians Nikolenko and Shynkarova (1-3).
