Silvia Domínguez: “You have to win anyway”

MADRID, 21 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The captain of the Spanish basketball team, Silvia Domínguez, confessed the importance of the Eurobasket 2023 quarterfinal crossing, this Thursday against Germany, and pointed out that they have to “win at any cost”, even if nerves or tension prevent them from making the brightest basketball, to “continue writing” his story.

“The 12 of us are looking forward to it. The quarterfinal is a key match, we know the importance, what we experience and what we want to do,” he said in statements provided by the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB), collected by Europa Press.

The base of the team also pointed out the desire to make up for the defeats in this same round two years ago in the previous continental event and in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. “The last quarters came up tails and we want it to come out heads, put everything that we have. We want to get everything going, it’s a game where there are a lot of nerves but we have to win in any way”, he stated.

“Winning takes you to another level of the championship. The coaching staff is going to prepare it very well and you have to trust the game plan. Calm down at times when we choke and vice versa, when we’re good, continue to be a roller “We come with casualties, with what happened two years ago, getting used to winning is lost a bit and we started from scratch. We started little by little and we are already in the quarterfinals, we want to continue writing this story,” he added.
