Racing stops its bad streak with a comeback against Levante

MADRID, 20 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Racing de Santander, with doubles from Juan Carlos Arana and Peque, came back this Monday against Levante UD, in the last match of the sixteenth round of LaLiga Hypermotion, to end their streak of three consecutive defeats and get closer to the ‘Playoff’ positions.

The Granota team took the lead after 11 minutes in the duel at the Ciutat de València after Rúben Vezo recovered a ball in the center of the field in an action that Óscar Clemente finished with a shot from the heart of the area.

Just ten minutes later, the scorer of the goal lost the ball in the midfield and Iñigo Sainz-Maza served deep so that Juan Carlos Arana beat goalkeeper Joan Femenías with a shot into the top corner and tied the contest.

The intense first half in the capital of Turia, with numerous chances and even a corrected penalty from Ezkieta to Dani Gómez, ended with the 2-1 for Javi Calleja’s team, the work of Iván Romero when he chased down a cross from Xavi Grande in the extra time.

In the resumption, Peque once again balanced the contest for the Cantabrians from eleven meters after Álex Valle knocked down Arana (min.52), who precisely came back for his team minutes later after accommodating the ball with his chest and creating a cross shot (min.59).

Peque, already in the 70th minute, signed the sentence for Racing, thus ending a streak of three consecutive defeats to add 24 points and remain just three away from the ‘Playoff’ zone. The granota team (24), for its part, has already gone five days without winning.
