Only one game penalty for Koundé

The Competition Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has decided to sanction the Sevilla player with a suspension match Jules Koundé for the hit to the face that he hit during the match between the Andalusian team and Barcelona last Tuesday, good news for Julen Lopetegui, since he risked losing the French player in between two to four games if the members of the Committee had considered aggression the action he carried out against the Barcelona player Jordi Alba.

Competition has considered that the reaction of Koundé, who tried to throw the ball with his hand to the Barça side’s face after receiving a strong tackle from the latter on the wing, is a disparagement of the rival and not an attack, even though it is a violent action, as the Madrid collegiate Carlos del Cerro Grande. For this reason, the defender will serve his sanction on the next League match against Cádiz on January 3 and will be able to be available again for Lopetegui in the next game against Getafe. Koundé left the Sevilla with ten when his team and Barcelona tie a goal in the 63rd minute of a match that would end with that result.

The minutes included the following: “In minute 63 the player (23) Kounde , Jules Olivier was sent off for the following reason: For throwing the ball violently in the face of an opponent, hitting him in the face, and the ball was not in play. The FC Barcelona player who received the impact of the ball did not need assistance and was able to continue in the game ”.
