Murthy charges against the creators of the Superliga

Anil Murthy expressed this Tuesday the frontal opposition of Valencia to the Super League project, which he described as “anti-football”, but also charged harshly against the clubs that promote it, whom he accused of being the creators of a “superinflation” that ensures that this tournament will “perpetuate” if it is launched. “Growing this bubble is irresponsible. It will explode, ”he warned.

“The Super League presented in recent days is a purely economic project that is anti-football. To suggest that football is financially ruined is to avoid the issue at hand, ”said the leader, who denied that football is ruined.

“We are surprised by the message that the Superliga is the solution to modern football. The problems of modern football are created by the excesses of these same clubs that are unilaterally assuming an unsustainable solution ”, he accused.

“These clubs have generated excessive inflation in transfer prices and salaries in recent years. This Super League will further perpetuate the superinflation of the past and will further exacerbate the problem, instead of solving it, “said Murthy, who advocated strengthening the figure of financial 'fair play'.

But, in addition, Murthy insisted that “the current idea of the Super League destroys the very essence” of football and destroys it.

“Soccer has never been improved by a private group of 20 clubs. We hope this gets reviewed and people come to their senses. The solution to modern football is to accept the mistakes of the past and fix them together as a football community, “he said.

The Valencia manager praised the changes that UEFA has introduced and the new television distributions and gave his own management as an example.

“Valencia CF, in this context, has advocated the responsibility of facing the current economic challenge, to the point of significantly reducing our budget and investing significantly in the Academy to prepare for the future,” he concluded.
