Llorente adds for Eibar and frustrates Las Palmas

MADRID, 15 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Eibar had to settle for a draw (2-2) this Friday against UD Las Palmas thanks to a late goal from Fernando Llorente, at the start of matchday 36 of LaLiga Santander, which also left Amorebieta with a vital victory against Mirandes (1-0).

The gunsmith team continues its irregular streak, with a victory in its last five games, giving life to its pursuers. The leader started with the wind in their favor, thanks to Stoichkov’s 1-0 after four minutes, but the Canarian team, on a roll, came back before the break through Sadiku and Jesé, from a penalty.

García Pimienta’s men also commanded in the resumption from possession but without sentencing. Despite the problems to generate danger, a header from Fernando Llorente made it 2-2 in the 80th minute. Eibar is left with 68 points, for Almería’s 66 and Real Valladolid’s 65, both rivals this Saturday in a direct duel for direct ascent. Las Palmas, who were looking for their fifth victory in a row, saw their streak stopped at the gates of the promotion zone.

In addition, on Friday in the Second Division, Amorebieta’s victory over Mirandés also left this Friday, thanks to a great goal by Álvaro Peña, to get four points from salvation and still have faith in permanence.
