Leipzig considers “one of the priorities” to renew Dani Olmo

LEIPZIG (GERMANY), 17 Feb. (dpa/EP) –

The sports director of Leipzig, Max Eberl, considers it a priority to achieve the renewal of the Spanish striker Dani Olmo, especially due to the probable departures of Konrad Laimer and Christopher Nkunku.

“It is one of my priorities, so far we have had three good conversations. I have good feelings,” said the manager in a videoconference with fans held on Wednesday night and published this Friday by the newspaper ‘Leipziger Volkszeitung’.

“Dani knows what he has at this club. I also know his father quite well, I try to take advantage of that. Let’s see if it works. Dani is a first-class player who has fantastic potential,” he commented.

In the virtual meeting with the fans of the Saxon club, Eberl also explained his intention to put together a subsidiary team and create new structures to promote the development of young players in the region. “The best way is to discover young players and work with them, accompany the youngsters and recognize their potential,” he defended.

Eberl came to the position in December, after leaving Borussia Mönchengladbach in January 2022, alleging an overload of work.
