Leganés receives Cartagena with the intention of dealing another blow for direct promotion

MADRID, 28 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

CD Leganés, outstanding leader of the LaLiga Hypermotion, will host FC Cartagena this weekend during matchday 33 with the intention of dealing another blow in the direct promotion zone, in order to narrow the room for maneuver of Elche CF, which will visit Racing de Ferrol, and RCD Espanyol, who for their part will visit Burgos CF.

Specifically, Espanyol will open fire this Friday (8:30 p.m.) at El Plantío. The parakeets let two points slip away last day against Tenerife, who tied (1-1) in the 90th minute and made the Stage Front Stadium bitter. With 53 points, the blue and white team occupies second place, but has one win and three draws in its last four games.

Their next opponent, Burgos, recently lost against SD Huesca (3-0) and hindered their assault on the promotion playoff zone, finishing eighth with 49 points. Just ahead in the standings, the Burgos team has Sporting de Gijón (49 pts.) and Racing de Santander (50 pts.), who will play against each other on Saturday (6:30 p.m.).

This Saturday round will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the José Zorrilla Stadium, with the duel between Valladolid (51 pts.) and Levante (47 pts.). Slight favoritism for the Pucelanos, who have only lost one of their last 14 home games; Meanwhile, the ‘granota’ team has not won away from home in the Second Division since October 6, 2023.

Eibar (52 pts.), another candidate for the promotion playoff, will also play in their stadium on Saturday (4:15 p.m.) against Eldense. The Eibar residents have completed a last month of up and down, with two wins and three losses, and the Elda club has gone three games without winning, at a rate of one draw and two losses to remain in the middle of the table (42 pts.).

At the same time as Eibar, Leganés will enter the scene against Cartagena. Filled with spirit from their recent comeback (1-2) in the Villarreal B field, the Pepinero team seems to have recovered the good path that is giving them so many benefits this campaign. In the lead with 59 points, those from Butarque will once again entrust themselves to their stadium to receive an ‘Efesé’ team that cannot be distracted, since it has 38 points.

The other two main dishes of this day will remain for the Sunday session. Alcorcón vs Amorebieta (2:00 p.m.) seems vital for both, since those from the south of the Community of Madrid now mark salvation with 33 points in their eighteenth place; Opposite, those from the Duranguesado region occupy twentieth position with 30 points.

And at 4:15 p.m., in A Malata, the match between Racing de Ferrol and Elche will be seen. The Ferrol team, a great sensation during the first half of the season, has deflated and is currently tenth with 48 points. Their next rival will be an Elche team that saw its four-game winning streak broken last week, when it was beaten ‘in extremis’ (3-2) by Levante.
