James to Atlético de Madrid ?: “Never stop believing”

Two weeks left to close the transfer market in Europe and James Rodríguez is one of the players who does not have a defined future in Everton, a club with which he signed until June 2022, but with the arrival of Rafa Benítez his options to play seem minimal. The Colombian has said that he does not know if he will continue in Merseyside and that all he wants is to play where they want him.

Atlético de Madrid is one of the teams with which James has been linked since his time at Bayern Munich ended in May 2019. That summer the mattress makers were about to sign him, but at the last minute Florentino Pérez backed down and decided to stay with the player so as not to reinforce one of his historical rivals. A year ago it also sounded for Atleti before going to Everton in England.

Now, and after several rumors in the press about an offer by Jorge Mendes to Atleti, andJames himself ignited speculation with a trill on his official Twitter account. The midfielder trilled one of the most significant slogans of the Spanish team and added a 'soon' emoji.

“Never stop believing,” James posted on Monday afternoon after finishing a transmission on his Twitch channel, where he also said that he will not play next weekend against Leeds for the second day of the Premier League.

This message from the player on social networks has had thousands of reactions from his followers, many of them talking about Atlético de Madrid and the option of joining the team led by Diego Simeone, current LaLiga champion.
