Guede: “It’s not going to be easy, but I’m calm and confident”

Pablo Guede recognized the virtues of Oviedo, one of the best teams in the Second Division, and positively assessed the draw achieved by Málaga. Even so, the point does not prevent the rent on the decline from continuing to decline. Real Sociedad B won in Fuenlabrada and is now two points behind the Malaguistas. “I am calm and confident. No one said that this was going to be easy, ”says the Argentine.

Evaluation of the meeting: “We could have done a little more in attack. It was the typical Second Division game, we had to match the intensity and aggressiveness and balance ourselves defensively. Half court duels were well controlled, but we lacked that bit to do more damage in attack. It’s a good point against a team that is on a very good run and we have to continue”.

Debut of youth squad Víctor Olmo: “He played for a reason. He had been performing very well in the subsidiary and was training with us. I call him Cucumber. Bravo told me that there was a cucumber down there, that he had to see it. Today he proved it. He played a great game in his debut, it wasn’t easy, he was up to the task and we have to keep him going”.

The situation is complicated: “Nobody said this was going to be easy. I have it very clear, we have to go game by game. Continue and never lower your arms. We have to go to Tenerife and push. We are three and we have the advantage of two points out of nine. You have to play the games. It was very clear to me since I arrived. I picked up the guys in the locker room. We have to keep going”.

Oviedo, a tough rival: “Explaining to the people who came what this match was is difficult. We played a good game, the one that the rival required, because they are very good in terms of intensity. We were at the level of a good team and we lacked finesse in attack to resolve situations. We didn’t have that last pass, nor the good cross, because two against one always arrived on the wing. That is what causes Oviedo, which is a good team. They have just over 20 goals conceded, like Tenerife. If you don’t counter the good they have, you end up losing. I’m not worried that we have to be finer in the last few meters for the few chances we can create, but it didn’t happen”.

Malaga depends on itself: “It’s everything, mental and football, but not more than it corresponds. If we had played with our hearts in the last few minutes, we would have lost this game. There are three games left, it depends on us and we have to keep working. Nobody said it was easy. I am calm and super confident. There are nine points left at stake and forward, like the admiral”.

Pitos a Sekou: “He fulfilled what we worked for. She had a very gray job, keeping the center backs fixed and whoever fell into the area, put it in. That’s why I played with him for reference. He did the job I asked of him. He is going to be just as important as the rest of the players.”
