Grbic does not train with Atleti and his future points to Lille

Atlético accelerates its exit operation. If during yesterday the transfer of Manu Sánchez to Osasuna was confirmed, the next one may be Ivo Grbic. The Croatian goalkeeper, an outstanding player when he had minutes during the preseason, went to Majadahonda, but he did not participate in Atlético's training session and left before the start.

Grbic decided that the best thing for his future was an exit in search of minutes. He took advantage of his summer opportunities, stopping two penalties against Numancia or leaving a save against Wolfsburg, but he knows that with Oblak the minute door is completely closed. AS has been telling that Lille has been one of the great stakeholders in getting their services, preferring the option of incorporating him transferred. Also Granada, where appropriate requesting the transfer.

But, as they point out in France, Lille have won the battle and will add Grbic to their ranks, with the intention of having him available already this weekend. Mike Maignan, starting goalkeeper in Lille's magical year, set course for Milan and Grbic aims to be his replacement. It remains to be seen if the operation occurs as a loan or with the payment for the transfer. Atlético needs income to carry out Operation Vlahovic, the desired player to reinforce the lead. But for this, several exits are mandatory. Of course, in exchange for Grbic another goalkeeper will arrive that does not imply a significant outlay. The Swiss Roman Burki is one of the options that the club has on the table.

Arias and Marcos Paulo also did not exercise with the group and may end up leaving the club. Neither of them is currently registered in LaLiga and the former occupies a non-EU position. Nehuén Pérez also remains waiting while the matter is resolved, since Atlético only has one vacancy on their squad (Felipe and Lodi are also from outside the EU). The Argentine could remain as the fifth center-back of the squad, since Cholo uses three habitually in his titular scheme and only has four specialists in the team, although a significant financial offer for Nehuén would open the options upon his departure.
