Eusebio, undergoing emergency surgery for a clot in the head

Eusebio Sacristán has been admitted to the Hospital Clínico de Valladolid after suffering a clot in the head after a fall. The former soccer player and coach had to undergo surgery, according to El Norte de Castilla. He was admitted to the hospital at dawn on Thursday, December 30, after an accident in a hotel establishment.

Hospital sources confirm to the local newspaper that the intervention can last for more than three hours. The operation is carried out from this noon, after he spent the night under observation and a clot was detected.

The coach resides in Valladolid since his time as Girona coach ended in 2019. Before, he also played on the benches of Celta de Vigo, Barça B or Real Sociedad. As a footballer, he defended the Barcelona shirt 267 times. He also played for Atlético, Celta and spent his career start and finish at Real Valladolid.
