Elche 1-Celta 0 | The 'Pipa' shows signs of life

The Pipa Benedetto, the man who was missing to appear in the championship, appeared to finish off an exhausted Celta, without a spark. The Argentine from Elche gave the three points to his team. El Pipa exploded, gave signs of life and led the green-franj reaction several days later when the nerves were already appearing for Martínez Valero. On the way, Elche also ended Celta's streak of two consecutive victories. Almost nothing was known about the Coudet team who showed signs of vigor and courage in the last games. He only seemed to be alive in the 89th minute, just when the VAR annulled a goal to Iago Aspas by hand. The nightmare of Celta's '10' with Elche continues. The goal resists him.

The respect, the warmth and the feeling of being more aware of the rival than of generating football affected Elche and Celta in the first half. Even so, the franjiverde ensemble gave a greater sense of danger. He didn't get too close to Dituro's area, but he did get close enough to have Aspas and Mina, Celta's two offensive threats, out of Casilla's reach. Lucas Pérez tried with an Olympic goal that hit the stick shortly after starting and Benedetto also made an effort. The Argentine almost scored after an action that was canceled for offside and a distant shot. From Celta, there were no signs of life. Tapia was his best man and when that happens Coudet's box is in trouble.

Elche improved a lot in the second half. He took away his fears and launched himself for Celta. And that the Vigo painting had the first two approaches. The one who did not forgive was Benedetto after a great assistance from Fidel. El Pipa made his debut as a scorer when his team needed him most. The goal ended up unleashing Elche. The lack of aim prevented the Escribá team from having a more placid end to the game. Boyé, Raúl Guti and Benedetto had the second, especially the Argentine. After a good connection with Piatti, the Pipe ran into a saving foot of Hugo Mallo. Pere Milla closed the carousel of occasions to make the second.

Elche forgave and almost took a toll on him. Galhardo finished off a header on the post while Escribá's box always lacked that centimeter to complete the play and sentence. From Galhardo's scare he went on to collapse at the Martínez Valero when Iago Aspas, in the 89th minute, scored the equalizer. The VAR issued a sentence and annulled the goal for touching the Aspas player on the hand. Elche breathed because he tied a vital triumph in Benedetto's business card.
