Deschamps will continue to lead France, according to L’Équipe

The sounded elimination of France at the hands of Switzerland in the second round of the European Championship has caused an earthquake in the French team. Little by little the frictions and disputes between players are revealed and at the same time the future of Didier Deschamps is being elucidated.

The French coach is on the wire after the monumental setback against Switzerland and his future as head of the team hung by a thread. But apparently, after the dismissal rumors, Deschamps would manage to stay in office.

According to L’Équipe, the French coach will retain the position and will continue to coach France until the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Once the World Cup was over, a succession would arrive demanded by various sectors of the press.

Zinedine Zidane had sounded like Deschamps' replacement in France, however the succession would not occur until, at least, after the World Cup.
