Deportivo Alavés coach, Javier Calleja, recalled this Friday that his players have a goal and it has to be noticed on the field against Levante.
The Complutense remarked, in a telematic press conference, that it will be “a totally different game against a completely different rival (Eibar) due to the characteristics and the situation in the table”, and stressed that they have to be mentally strong.
“The one who is mentally stronger will achieve the final goal,” said Calleja, although he clarified that they will have to work at a tactical level due to the equality that exists.
“It will be very important to stay strong and that it does not happen to us like the other day that in the first blow we fell apart, when it has to be the opposite and that it serves to reveal ourselves and not to leave the game”, analyzed the babazorro coach,
He added that he is convinced of the possibilities of his team, that although a rival who is going to go to Vitoria “without any pressure because he has achieved the goal” is measured, it will put them in difficulties “because nobody wants to lose.”
Alavés de Calleja has won the two duels they have played at home. “We have to be strong and become very strong and very reliable here at home because I think it is one of the keys to achieving permanence,” considered the Madrid native, who preferred to turn the page to the 3-0 received against Eibar and look forward.
“Our obligation is to look at what we have done well and what we have done wrong to work on it and forget it,” he said in a self-critical way.
Javier Calleja confessed that he has not made accounts of the points that are needed for salvation because “they are accounts of the milkmaid”, so they will have to beat Levante to distance themselves “as much as possible from the rivals”.
“We have to be brave and go for the game from the first moment,” he stressed about the duel against Levante.
“I try to always keep the same line and give it balance,” he commented on the weekly work. “You have to try to keep your feet on the ground and stay cool in that regard,” he stressed with confidence.
He considered that he does not have to start from scratch despite the last defeat because there is a previous job and the team was “in an upward line.”
The Albiazul coach repeated on several occasions that the game was not going to resemble the one they played in Ipurua a week ago and hopes that his team will show that what happened against Eibar was “a stumbling block”.
On the other hand, he regretted the absence of the public in Mendizorroza and assured that “many more points” had been obtained with the fans in the field.
He promised that he would not save anything for this game, although on Tuesday another as crucial or more takes place against Elche and he expects a dangerous Levante.
