Cádiz hosts the fourth stop of LaLiga Genuine Santander 2021-22

The city of Cádiz will host this weekend the fourth stop of LaLiga Genuine Santander 2021-22, the outcome of the second phase of the season in which 24 teams and nearly 400 players will participate at the Ciudad Deportiva Bahía de Cádiz.

The competition, a project developed by LaLiga through its Foundation and consisting of a soccer league made up of teams of people with intellectual disabilities, returns to Andalusia to conclude the second phase of its calendar, after the stop in Malaga over the weekend last.

The Ciudad Deportiva Bahía de Cádiz is the venue chosen by the host club, Cádiz CF, to host the 36 games scheduled for this weekend, spread over three time slots (Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon). morning).

The inauguration of the headquarters took place on Friday, which was attended by the 24 teams participating in the competition during these days, as well as different institutional representatives, such as Olga de la Fuente, director of the LaLiga FOUNDATION; Manuel Vizcaíno, president of Cádiz CF; Rocío Ruiz Domínguez, Minister of Equality, Social Policies and Conciliation of the Junta de Andalucía; or Carlos Salguero, 1st deputy mayor of Puerto Real.

Olga de la Fuente showed her admiration and affection “for the true stars of LaLiga, authentic and special people.” “From professional football we will continue to advance in the normalization and inclusion of this group, to break down the barriers and prejudices that still remain in the world of intellectual disabilities,” she indicated.

For his part, Manuel Vizcaíno thanked the arrival of the Genuine project in the city of Cádiz. “It is essential that we continue to normalize that football belongs to everyone, at all levels and circumstances. Let us give back to society through football, what society gives us”, he pointed out.


In addition to the traditional parade of teams and the dance of the competition anthem, local institutional representatives were presented with a plaque of thanks for the support of public institutions for this inclusive and social project which, in addition to promoting the practice of sports among people with intellectual disabilities, aims to improve the quality of life of this group.

The almost 400 male and female players representing the 24 participating teams in this venue, and coming from the Respect and Sportsmanship groups, will compete for their sports and Fair Play points in the run-up to the grand final in Bilbao, which will take place on the 4th and June 5 and that will define the champion teams of the fourth edition of LaLiga Genuine Santander.

As in the previous venues of the season, the teams that attend the Ciudad Deportiva Bahía de Cádiz during the weekend will be able to enjoy the ‘Fans of the Real’ experience, launched by Burger King, a brand associated with the competition. It is a Fan Zone that will have different recreational activities during the days of Saturday and Sunday. In this way, and in addition to the social and labor inclusion project for which several Genuine players have already joined the Spanish restaurants of this entity, Burger King continues its commitment plan with LaLiga Genuine Santander.

For its part, Banco Santander, title sponsor of the competition, will once again demonstrate its support and involvement with this socially responsible project over the weekend.
