Brahim Díaz, Spanish talent at the service of Carlo Ancelotti

MADRID, 15 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Brahim Díaz was presented this Tuesday as a Real Madrid player, a club to which he returns after spending three seasons on loan at AC Milan, where the man from Malaga has matured and improved as a footballer, something transcendental for the white club to have decided to make him part of the plans of the first team for the next seasons.

The lack of opportunities, 604 minutes in a season and a half as a Real Madrid player, was the reason why one of the young talents of Spanish football decided at the age of 20 to pack his bags and go to Milan. There, after three full seasons, 117 games and 6,548 minutes, the man from Malaga returns to the most experienced Real Madrid in the European football elite.

His impact on the Milan team has been progressive. In his first campaign as a ‘rossoneri’, Brahim played 37 games in all competitions, 19 of them as a starter, participating in 1,705 minutes, going on to 30 starts and 2,224 minutes in the second, and the 2,619 minutes of this past campaign distributed in 44 games. An increasingly higher participation than the previous one and with a greater weight in Stefano Pioli’s team, with whom he won a Serie A in 2021-2022 and some historic Champions League semifinals in this recently concluded campaign.

A performance that also translates into data. The Spaniard has achieved his best campaign in scoring production in 2022/2023 with 15 appearances in goals (7 goals and 8 assists), which is also his best year since he debuted in professional football. Something that has to do with the number of balls that have passed through his boots this season, since Brahim Díaz has participated in 1,508 actions with the ball, more than in any other course.

But his involvement in the Lombard team has not only come in the form of a finisher. The man from Malaga has lived his season with the most chances created (48), being the fifth best player in Milan in this regard. In addition, he has completed 59 dribbles, the most of the Rossoneri after the Portuguese Rafael Leao, while a section in which the game of the new Real Madrid player stands out is the progressive dribbling of more than 10 meters, becoming with 119 the best midfielder of the Italian team in this statistic.

Brahim Díaz is a player who likes to be the protagonist, he does not hide and always wants the ball in his boots. That audacity, added to his ability to hide the ball from his rivals, make him one of the players who has caused the most fouls in Italy this season (78).

Sensations and numbers that show that the player who will start the 2023/2024 season is completely different from the one who first stepped foot in the Bernabéu four years ago and when he arrived from Manchester City. Now, Brahim Díaz is in full football maturity and with the ability to enter regularly into Carlo Ancelotti’s plans, either as a starter or from the bench, but always providing solutions to the team.
